Understand the DM code
The private word tells you that someone received your profile through The Dating Antidote. It does not prove their identity, intentions, or trustworthiness. Never post your code publicly. Rotate it from your private account whenever you want.
Before you reply
Review the Instagram account carefully. Look for signs that it is established and consistent. Ask questions, keep early conversation on the platform, and consider a video call before meeting. You never owe anyone a reply.
Protect money and personal information
Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, bank details, passwords, verification codes, your home address, or sensitive documents to a match. Be cautious about investment pitches, emergencies, and requests to move off-platform immediately.
If you meet
Meet in a busy public place, tell someone where you are going, arrange your own transportation, keep control of food and drinks, and leave whenever you feel uncomfortable. Consent must be clear, voluntary, and ongoing.
Control your visibility
You can use the low-key introduction pace, remove individual interest pools, pause all introductions, rotate your DM code, or delete your profile from your private account. On Instagram, use its block and report tools for unwanted contact.
Report a concern
Submit safety reports through our contact form with the Instagram handle and relevant details. If anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. The Dating Antidote is not an emergency service.
